Yet, this very geography renders our nation highly vulnerable to a range of disasters—earthquakes, floods, landslides, fires, storms, and the looming threats from glacial lake outburst floods due to climate change. These hazards have repeatedly tested our resilience, reminding us that preparedness is not just an option, but a necessity for survival and progress. It is with this profound understanding that the Nepal Disaster Resilience Foundation (NDRF) was established. Our mission is clear: to foster disaster resilience through effective preparedness, community awareness, capacity building, and proactive measures that empower every citizen to face adversities with confidence. As President of NDRF, I am immensely proud of our dedicated team and partners who work tirelessly to educate communities, strengthen infrastructure, and promote sustainable practices that mitigate risks. By focusing on awareness and readiness, we aim to transform vulnerabilities into strengths, ensuring that no life is lost unnecessarily and no community is left devastated.
