What We Do
- Enhance Community Preparedness and Awareness: Deliver targeted training programs on disaster preparedness and awareness to communities, schools, and local governments across Nepal, focusing on high-risk areas prone to earthquakes, floods, storms, road traffic accidents, and landslides to build resilience and reduce vulnerability.
- Conduct Research and Develop IEC Materials: Undertake comprehensive research on disaster risks and trends in Nepal, while creating and disseminating Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials such as brochures, videos, and digital resources to educate the public on prevention, response, and recovery strategies.
- Map Disasters and Hazards Nationwide: Perform detailed mapping of disasters and hazards throughout Nepal, identifying key risks in urban and rural regions, and recommend evidence-based coping measures, including early warning systems, infrastructure reinforcements, and community-based adaptation plans.
- Support Search, Rescue, and Reintegration Efforts: Collaborate with national and international agencies to conduct search and rescue operations during disasters, provide immediate relief, and facilitate the reintegration of affected individuals through psychosocial support, livelihood restoration, and long-term rehabilitation programs.
